The piece moves on a diagonal line defined by two strips of tape. The piece explorers “strength.” What is it? Why do we worship it? Can we repeat the same movement sequence over and over again without revealing the effort involved?


Amir May-Tal

Amir finished his studies at Charles E. Smiths Jerusalem High School for the Arts, Jerusalem Israel in 2008. 2010-2012 he studied at the Vertigo Dance Training Program. In 2012-2013 he completed the composition course at “The Group in Jaffa” led by Odelya Kuperberg. Currently studies for his B.A. in dance at the Rubin academy in Jerusalem, Israel.
He has  worked as a dancer with: Tzphira Stern, Efrat Nehama,  Ka’et Ensemble, Theater Company Jerusalem, Lior Lev, Mayan Zohar, Jerusalem Dance Theater (Tamara Mielnik and Eyal Nahum), and Maayan Liebman-Sharon.
Amir presented his first solo “No-thing was the thing” during “Men and Dancing” at Suzanne Dellal Center and at the 20th International Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival, Stuttgart Germany.
His second solo “In his own image” was premiered june 2017 at the “ Creations from home” artistic director and mentor Miriam Engel. Since its premiere the piece participated in different events in Israel.
